BOATSHEDS & ANNUAL VANS

The Park is home to 32 boatsheds along its ~1km foreshore, which are privately licensed on an annual basis to individuals who use them to store watercraft and escape the heat on hot summer days. Overnight stays are not permitted in boatsheds. The Park also offers annual permits to a limited number of privately owned and movable caravans. A set number of overnight stays are permitted in annual vans.

The Park is non-residential. We maintain an active asbestos registration and eradication approach on all assets in the Park, with which both boatshed and caravan assets are required to comply.

Current and potential asset owners in the Park should consider the 2024 Adaptation Pathways assessment of the Caravan Park foreshore. Further info here.

The Caravan Park continues to experience the effects of coastal hazards, which at times restricts access and use in parts of the Park. Coastal hazards are expected to worsen over time and will affect the reserve more frequently in the coming years. This will potentially affect the Caravan Park’s viability depending on inundation frequency as well as environmental and safety risks that may present due to inundation events.
